A: 32

Q: What is your occupation?

A: Attorney

Q: How long have you been participating in triathlons?

A: 2 1/2 Years

Q: How long have you been coached by Kevin Crossman?

A: 2 1/2 Years

Q: What is your favorite race, and why?

A: Lake George Triathlon because it is a local race put on by our club that does a great job.

Q: What is your favorite piece of triathlon equipment?

A: Probably my new bike I got several months ago - Kuota Kalibar

Q: What are some of your career highlights as an athlete (not necessarily triathlon)?

A: NCAA Division 1 Swimming Champion and NCAA All American
1st place Lake George Triathlon
Qualifying for Ironman 70.3 World Championships

Q: What are your triathlon goals for the 2008 season?

A: Improving my nutrition during races
4:20 at Ironman 70.3 World Championships
Breaking 1:30 on the run for a ˝ ironman
Solid race at Lake George Triathlon

Q: What is your long-term goal in the sport of triathlon?

A: To be consistently strong in all of my races and improve. I think the most important goal that I realized this year is that you must have fun and enjoy yourself both in training and during races. In addition, I would like to qualify for Ironman World Championships in Kona someday.

Q: What are 3 foods someone would always find in your refrigerator/cupboards?

A: Chips and Salsa, Corona, Triscuits

Q: Do you specialize in a particular triathlon distance? If so, why that distance?

A: Probably Olympic distance since the swim is proportionally longer than other distances.

Q: What advice would you give to a 'newbie' in the sport?

A: Remember to have fun and nutrition can be one of the most important components during a race no matter how much training you put in. I have learned this the hard way. In addition, I would recommend getting a coach like Kevin since you might not be able to reach your potential without a coach.

Q: Do you have any secret training tips? (Not really secret if you share, huh?)

A: When you coach gives you workout that includes some hard efforts make sure that you maximize your effort and when your coach gives you an easy workout make sure that you use it as recovery.

Q: Please list your favorite workout:

A: To be honest I really enjoy the training aspect of the sport so I really enjoy all of the workouts. If I had to pick one it would be a hard bike workout on a flat road trying to hold a solid pace.

Q: Any thoughts you want to share?

A: Triathlon is a great sport. I would definitely recommend to friends that train by themselves that they should use Kevin as a coach so that they can reach their potential.
